This is an AI aircraft and will NOT BE VISIBLE in the aircraft selection window in flight simulator. However if you want it to be visible in the aircraft selection window, you have to edit the "TFS_Dash8.air" file with the program "AirEd" (available at AVSIM "aired.zip"), change "Aircraft Type" from "2" to "0".

WE WILL GIVE ALMOST NO SUPPORT IF YOU WANT FLY THIS AI AIRCRAFT!!

----N O R M A L N O T E----

This aircraft was designed specifically for use as an AI aircraft. As such, the primary design criteria were that it look good sitting at the gate, or as seen when landing from an aircraft waiting to take off.

These planes also uses 6 different LOD (levels of detail) models, which means that as the plane gets visually smaller, the model displayed becomes simpler and simpler, thus reducing the drag on your computer.

If you download a GMAX aircraft that is just gorgeous, but really chews up your frame rates when used as AI if several of them appear on the screen at once, the designer probably did not use the LOD feature, so the model is always 18,914 polygons no matter how far away from you it is.

There should be an additional entry in each initial released "fltsim.x.txt" file, which looks like this:

prop_anim_ratio=-0.2 //USE AND ADJUST THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK

This entry will stop freezing of the prop textures once they reach full throttle, you may adjust the value of this entry to suit your own satisfaction.
Or if you prefer freezing prop textures just remove that line.

We included 2 different "TFS_Dash8_Q400_prop" textures, see the pictures in the "b_Last Minute_Prop Bonus Folder" and make your decision which one you'll use.
You can put the "TFS_Dash8_Q400_prop" texture in the Main FS Texture folder, or just a copy in each separate livery texture folder.
After you made your choice do NOT forget to rename the PROP TEXTURE to "TFS_Dash8_Q400_prop"!!!!
All initial released repaints SHOULD (with at least 2 exceptions) have the default PROP TEXTURE included.

INSTALLATION:

1) Just drop the "TFS_Dash_8_400" folder into your FS2004 (FS9) aircraft folder.
2) Download a few liveries for it. (Available as separate downloads), or use the included "Prototype Livery" textures and skip 3-5
3) Copy the texture folder from the livery download into the "TFS_Dash_8_400" folder.
4) Copy the [fltsim.x] entry supplied with the livery into the aircraft.cfg file supplied in this base package. Be sure to number them correctly, starting sequentially with [fltsim.0] and working your way up with each additional livery you add...e.g. [fltsim.0], [fltsim.1], [fltsim.2]...making sure not to skip or duplicate any numbers in the sequence.
5) Be sure when filling in your [fltsim.x] entries that you pay special attention to which model you are needing to use.
6) Then assign the aircraft to some flightplans and you're on your way.

For more information or If you're not sure how to assign an aircraft to a flightplan, please visit our website at http://www.the-fruit-stand.com and look in the FAQ / Help section of our forums. Be sure to post any problems you may have or bugs you may find in our forum.
